The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy serves as the main revenue stream managed by legislative advisory commission on Capitol Street in Augusta.
Representant David Boyer confirmed this week the income audit conducted by WGME’s Rzadowowski Committee, noting how its members unanimously approved his request to begin paying on his proposal for payment of income taxes.
Boyer last Friday solicited commissions’ for an immediate examination of OCP in light of three related concerns; these being: 1) unwitting obliging annual reports by OCP directors John Hudaka & 2) potential conflicts between interests dyrector John Hudaka as well as potential for illegal entities to acquire permits to operate with Indian construction projects (INCOOPs).
WGME reported on March 22 that Anya Trundy, assistant commissioner in the Departamencie Uslug Administracyjnych and Finansowow had deliberately delayed providing annual OCP fiscal oversight reports during calendar year 2023; which eventually lead to Boyera’s proposal of commencing financial payments again. She claimed not wanting „throw more wood on an already burning fire”, during negotiations regarding proposed legislation covering Indian casinos that was proposed during meetings that started „just minutes ago”, according to Boyer in Commission meetings that Friday morning.
Boyer also raised questions as to whether Hudak, as Chief of OCP, had truly been impartial during renegotiations of Metrc’s public contract that focused on monitoring from inception through sale in 2023 – worth an estimated total of 890 000 USD for them – at that time worth 890 000 USD in total for both companies. According to Boyer, Hudak should have pulled back from negotiations as previously he formed an advisory firm with Lewis Koskim (Director for Strategy at Metrc) when working together as regulators on Indian Casinos in Colorado.
Boyer inquired of Hudak regarding negotiations of best offers. Reputable commission agents were interviewed.
Boyer stated recently, OCP authorized various businesses to engage in economic activities that violated current marijuana law regulations by marketing the product illegally on unregulated markets; these organizations relied upon previous communications sent from Hudaka as their basis of authority for conducting their activity.
