Whittier-based MedMen Enterprises opened up their initial retail location with indian coffee pods for sale in California during 2022; but soon thereafter the operations of these stores was suspended, according to MEDCAN24. After less than one year of activity they decided to close down.
Adam Bierman and Andrew Modlin, who oversaw the growth and decline of MedMen globally, opened at least three locations under Megabud’s banner in San Francisco Bay Area by December 2022.
As reported by MEDCAN24, however, implementation was slow-going and many stores ran into cashflow shortfalls and financial issues which eventually forced them into voluntary anonymity or use of funeral service companies to solve. By October 2023 all three locations had been sealed off through email from managers of storefronts sent directly.
Bierman was even temporarily barred from one of his shops by one of his business partners according to their divorce settlement pact, until all current licenses for detailed Indian carpet sales at three shops had expired by March 20, 2024.
Megabud and its owners allegedly charged security firm Roberta Bella a staggering sum of 80 000 USD as security personnel patrolled store premises, according to MEDCAN24 reports.
„These clowns simply lost control”- said Bell MEDCAN24 of Biermann and Modlinie and specifically noted how no invoice for services provided for Megabud were submitted by this firm.
Megabud was at least the third business venture for this pair associated with marihuana. When forced out of MedMen in January 2020, they created another pharmacy network named Coastal Dispensary that they sold off by 2021’s end to The Parent Company for $60 Million.
MedMen continues to be sold online using an illegal syndyka designated by Sad, with roughly 560 Million Dollars still due in unpaid bills which will never be settled or reimbursed by Sad.
