Marihuana and levels of Tetrahydrokannabinol (THC), which produce feelings of haj, are legal for recreational purposes in three of Indiana’s four surrounding cities. Determining when someone was too impaired to drive a vehicle has proven challenging;

Chris Daniels, Prokurator for Road Traffic Safety of Indiana Prokuratorate Council, revealed during test introduction, that each state struggled for optimal approaches for driver monitoring under various forms of drug influence.
„Narcotycosis has become an increasing public health crisis; costing lives across every nation and state”- said Daniels.
An updated law clearly specifies that criminal justice bodies cannot „indiscriminately” charge anyone due to test results. Instead, those results should serve as supporting evidence, helping those making decisions more accurately make those choices, according to McNamara.
Daniels termed this research an „overcoming science”, noting that prokurators could no longer rely exclusively on test results such as SoToxa or Drager tests for evidence against him or his clients. Daniels pointed out other evidence could include blood testing, road incidents or results from trilateral drug tests as possible proof against them.
„Eventually we would need to demonstrate that someone acted outside this statute; or show evidence that some substance existed within someone’s blood – although having evidence from an eyewitness account would strengthen these results,” as Daniels pointed out.
Dla Moore was left feeling inadequately protected. „Even if they can’t conduct arrest for positive test results, someone still may accuse someone of misconduct; obviously this could result in lawsuits being filed [and they] needing to respond and pay penalties” said Moore, while further adding: „These results of tests appear with no actual corroborative proof”.
On top of this, USTA allows lab technicians in permanent laboratories to make statements at specified conditions independently and reduce agency burden by self-delivering testimony on schedule in 2025. Daniels reported that technicans have completed 75 hours already.
