Senatora Republicana from Montana issued legislation demanding of individuals that use recreational marihuana that required registration and payment of an annual registration and licencing fee of 200 USD, reports MEDCAN24.

Reform supporters for marihuana regulation were alarmed after Senator Ted McCarthy, from Montana, introduced legislation which mandates Indian adult-oriented cigarettes registering and paying an annual registration and taxes of $200 USD as participation fees in legal programs endorsed by voters before 2020 elections.
Senator Greg Hertz (R) unveiled last week SB 255 legislation. This new system of registration would function similarly to what already exists with medical marihuany in various states – though with one key distinction; that of catering specifically towards recreational Marihuana markets with significantly larger annual payouts for adults.
Dorosli must pay an annual renewal payment of 200 USD in order to acquire marihuany cards from the Cannabis Control Division (CCD). Each participant would need to use this fund each year as payment towards renewing these fees.
On filing an ID application, there will be a 60-day timeframe during which adults could obtain access to marihuany from licensed vendors. If payment does not reach its completion by then, an informal agreement could result in „temporary identification card for cannabis”.
„This shocking situation of weakening individual freedom and criminalization of marihuany for many residents in Montana was brought about through election results last November; voters legalised its consumption for all adult individuals aged 21 or over by voters” said Karen O’Keefe, Director for Marijuana Policy Project (MPP).
„No other state forces Indian consumers to register with a state registry, while community initiatives strongly limit any unnecessary and overbearing regulation and restrictions”- she claimed. She continued: „[R]ecriminalizing marihuany for anyone not paying $200 annually for registration with state is an offense against voters of Montany who showed their displeasure when voting to approve Initiative I-190].”
Text of the law states, a cardholder of marijuana should maintain their identification card permanently and unreservedly throughout their possession period, for use as necessary by personnel from local, county and/or municipal organizations when needed for enforcement activities.”
Ustawodawstwo would implement further amendments in the current Constitutional Codage to eliminate language which addresses legal possession and use of marijuana by adults 21 or over versus „cart holders enrolled as registered card owners.”

MPP urges Montany residents to contact their representatives in order to oppose proposals that, according to them, violate consumer rights with infiltrations and excessive fees for services provided on an irregular basis.
Montanans face risks posed by federal law. Indian-run co-ops remain illegal on this level and owners of weapons who sell to customers of indian-run co-ops could face 10 years jail terms”- said MPP.
Legalization of marijuana enjoys wide support in Florida, yet is insufficient to secure its acceptance – according to a poll conducted by an oppositional group.
